Meet Dr. Idan Snapir

Is the dental implant procedure painful?

Dr. Idan Snapir does everything possible to ensure your dental implant surgery is physically and emotionally comfortable. You can opt for one of the numerous sedation options, such as intravenous sedation, oral sedation, or general anesthesia. You will feel no pain or discomfort during the procedure and minimal post-treatment discomfort.

Am I a candidate for dental implants even if I have bad oral health?

Generally speaking, most patients qualify for dental implant treatments, regardless of their age or oral health. If you’re missing one, several, or all of your teeth, you can contact our dentist to explore your implant options. If you have gum disease or periodontitis, the dentist may recommend treatments to handle the inflammation before proceeding with the dental implants procedure. However, the procedure is suitable for most people.

Does the dental implant process include a long recovery period?

Most patients experience mild to moderate swelling after dental implant surgery. Some can manage the mild discomfort with pain medications. However, the specific experience is different for different patients. Your dentist will recommend a soft food diet for a few days or weeks, following which you can resume your normal dietary habits.

How long does the dental implant surgery take?

In most cases, the entire dental implant process concludes after one in-office session. After performing implant surgery, you will be taken to the recovery room, where you’ll wait until the anesthesia wears off. The dentist will provide a natural-looking temporary denture or crown during the healing period, following which you can leave the dental clinic. After six months, you will have to return to the office for the permanent crown, bridges, or dentures.
